Essendon new recruit Matthew Leuenberger has been suffering from Achilles soreness over the past few weeks, with the Bombers set to manage the former Lion's workload leading into the season, according to The Age.
Leuenberger, 27 has suffered a number of multiple injuries throughout his career, one of those injuries being that dreaded Achilles injury.
The former Lions big man, who played 104 games with the club, moved to the Bombers at the end of last season as a restricted free agent in the hope to become the club's number one ruckman after he was overtaken by Stefan Martin at the Lions.
The Bombers medical staff is hoping that Leuenberger can rejoin the main group within the next fortnight.
In better news, star midfielder Dyson Heppell has returned to full training after missing the last month through soreness.
