Former Melbourne veteran ruckman Mark Jamar has reportedly been spotted at Essendon's training facility out at Tullamarine.
Jamar was not offered a contract by the Demons at the end of the 2015 season, but was said to be keen on continuing his career.
Reports during the off-season were that he was looked at by the Adelaide Crows before being passed on through the free agency and drafting period.
The 32 year old played 155 games with the Demons, kicking 56 goals.
The Bombers lost big man Tom Bellchambers through the CAS suspension and will need possible back-up with injury prone recruit Matthew Leuenberger, forward Shaun McKernan and recently promoted rookie Gach Nyuon.
Could Jamar be the first top-up player signing?
