Essendon midfielder David Zaharakis says he is worried that team-mate Michael Hibberd will not return to the club after his suspension is over.
Hibberd is currently overseas with other banned team-mates Michael Hurley, Tom Bellchambers and Cale Hooker and is yet to make his mind up on where he will be playing in 2017.
The Demons are reportedly interested in luring the half back, rebounding defender to the club.
Essendon great Tim Watson, speaking on 1116 SEN says that the club believes Hibberd is a "50/50" chance of returning.
"I haven't spoken to him ... Depending on what 'Hibbo' does, that's his choice to make. He's a required Essendon player, he's contracted," Zaharakis told RSN 927 on Thursday.
"So if he wants to move he has to seek a trade or otherwise and hopefully he does stay at the footy club but at the moment I'm unsure.
"The more you hear about these reports and the stronger they feel, then the more you worry that he might not be there because they wouldn't be getting reported for no reason.
"Hopefully that's not the case and hopefully he does return."
