Brent Stanton has become the seventh banned Essendon player to recommit for the 2017 AFL season.

The Bombers announced on Wednesday that Stanton, one of 12 players at the club serving a season-long doping suspension, had signed a one-year deal.

Veteran midfielder Stanton joins Tom Bellchambers, Dyson Heppell, David Myers, Cale Hooker, Travis Colyer and Heath Hocking in agreeing to return to Essendon.
